ups and downs getting hires with emirates airline By Cabin Crew After fighting through long and exhaustive interviews, months of waiting for a job offer, extensive medical exams costing thousands of dollars, and finally an approval to Join(March 6th) and move to Dubai, I got an email. Received on February 16th, the email wrote, "Due to the recent economic climate, we (Emirates Airline) have been forced to re-asses business strategy and recruitment needs for the future. We regret to inform you that we are withdrawing our offer of employment." So I am back to square one, looking for work, and a place to live. Now there is rumor going around that training will resume somewhere around July, August, or September and all of us that got out offers withdrawn will be contacted if still interested in the position. A Cabin Crew member with Emirates told me that this is what he was told in a pre-flight breifing by his Cabin Crew manager. So there is still a small hope, but I am not going to depend on being contacted for re-hire. So, the job search is back on. Unless, that is, I can book enough bartending gigs to be self employed full time.
